I took this photo in the Easter holiday on the 8th April when I went to Lyme Regis in Dorset. It was a beautiful day - I walked along the Cobb and took a few pictures :). I took this photo with my Canon EOS 350D and Olympus 50mm f/1.8 at f/11, 1/1000, ISO 400. I later edited this photo in DxO Film Pack and I added the Rollei IR 400 film effect.
The other day I went to Lyme Regis in Dorset. These beach huts were lined up against each other facing the sea. I took this photo with my Canon EOS 350D and Olympus 50mm f/1.8 lens. I used the settings -ISO 400 1/250 f/11
f/11 1/320 ISO 100 50mm Today I went to Minehead In Somerset and it was raining a lot but, when it stopped I took a photo of this rainbow. I used my Olympus 50mm f/1.8 lens and Canon EOS 350D. See this on flickr.
Today I tried freelensing ( taking the lens slightly off of the camera). I find it quite fun as, you can change the amount of light entering the camera and the depth of focus by moving the lens. I used my Canon EOS 350D and Olympus 50mm f/1.8 lens to take the picture above. If you haven't already I recommended trying out this technique.
Lenses are quite expensive to buy and you may consider to buy a cheap new lens from say Canon: such as the Canon 50mm f/1.8 prime lens. I think that if you are thinking about buying a new lens you may need to reconsider and browse eBay for old film lenses. I found an Olympus 50mm f/1.8 on eBay with an adaptor for around half the price of a new Canon f/1.8 lens (Lens on camera in photo below).... A lot of film lenses that you can find are sometimes better quality than the new lenses. My Olympus lens that I bought has a nice big focus ring (which you can't find on the new canon lens) and you can adjust the aperture on the lens itself. I've also found that using a manual lens has also allowed me to experiment more with my photos as, you cannot use auto modes. Here are a few examples of photos I have taken with this lens: I strongly recommend buying an old film lens or using your own old lenses on you DSLR or CSC, just make sure that you buy an adaptor that fits both the camera and the lens.
